About Rapid Prototyping
Rapid prototyping is a broad term to describe a number of different manufacturing processes to rapidly create objects. The most common method is an additive manufacturing process called Fused Depostion Modeling, or more commonly referred to as 3D printing.
FDM or 3D printing is the process where a machine progressively adds layer upon layer to build the desired three dimensional object from a CAD model.
Some examples of different types of Rapid Prototyping processes are:
- 3D Printing
- Selective Laser Sintering
- Cast Urethane
